Details Posted: 17-Jun-25 Location: Albany, New York Type: Part-time Salary: 25000 Categories Coaching Coaching - Soccer Sector Collegiate Sports Preferred Education 4 Year Degree Duties and responsibilities Assist the Head Women’s Soccer Coach with all aspects of the program including practice planning, game preparation, social media, official and unofficial visits, coordinate video exchange, student-athlete welfare, academic compliance and monitoring, NCAA, Conference and University rules compliance, fundraising and community service. Teach and educate student-athletes in the fundamentals, techniques and game strategies for soccer. Comply with all University, New York State policies and procedures related to budgeting, procurement, expenditures and reimbursements. Annually attend the mandatory sexual violence prevention program as required by federal, state, SUNY and University policies and procedures prior to or at the beginning of the academic year. Student-Athlete Welfare, Development And Social Acclimation ~ This position will work with each student-athlete and assist with personal and academic development, considerations for student-athlete welfare and provide a social climate that encourages transparency, inclusiveness and collegiality. Recruiting Responsible for evaluating, identifying, and reporting on prospective student-athletes based on assignments from the head coach and in clinic/summer camp settings. Will assist head coach on recruiting visits with prospective student-athletes and parents/guardians. This position will be responsible for complying with all NY State and University regulations regarding state travel, per-diem and reimbursement as a result of business-related expenses. Scouting Assist the Head Coach in developing practice and game plans. Will assist the Head Coach in all areas of game scouting, film review and student-athlete preparation. Academic, Degree Progress Responsible for work in conjunction with the Academic Support Services department to assist with academic and degree progress for student-athletes. This includes, but is not limited to, academic and course scheduling, academic monitoring through class checks, study hall monitoring and organizing study sessions during team travel. May be responsible for providing educational programs for student-athletes, assist with mentoring and tutoring as needed. Community Service and Fundraising Will be an active participant in all community service projects as well as help our student-athletes recognize the impact of community engagement and outreach. Engage in all fundraising activities as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. Camps And Clinics Assist the head coach with organizing and administering youth camps and ID clinics as needed. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of 1-3 years of coaching experience at college level, experience as a goalkeeper coach or ability to work with goalkeepers is preferred. Successful experience as a graduate assistant or intern in an athletic program is acceptable for up to one-year of the required experience. Knowledge of NCAA rules. Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, time management, verbal and written communication skills are required. Computer skills with a general knowledge of ARMS software and the ability to learn additional software programs as needed. The ability to work with people in a multi-ethnic environment is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those other cultures or backgrounds is required. The scope of this position requires weekend, evening and possible holiday hours.
