Civil Engineer – Wastewater

Nelson + Pope is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to work in the Wastewater Department in our Melville, New York office for an immediate start.

The work includes the planning and design of wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and sanitary sewer conveyance systems.

Responsibilities/Top Skills/Qualifications:

• design, permit, construction plans, specifications and bid documents
• hydraulic modeling and analysis of systems
• site assessments, inspections and condition assessment of existing infrastructure
• quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates
• strong understanding of wastewater treatment process
• collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surveyors, engineers, environmental scientists, etc.
• knowledge of local permitting to ensure designs meet regulatory standards
• client & contractor coordination
• AutoCAD / Civil3D
• proficient in Microsoft Office
• good verbal communication, written communication, and organizational skills

Salary Range: $65K to $90K
