CNC Lathe Machinist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Programming, setting up, operating, and performing basic maintenance on (CNC) lathes to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications and quality standards.

Shift: Day 8 am -4:30 pm or Night: 4:00pm -12:00am(2 positions)

Key Responsibilities:

• Setup and Operation:
• Set up and operate CNC lathes (including loading programs, tooling selection, offset adjustments, and fixture setup).
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensional specifications.
• Perform machine start-up and shut-down procedures .
• Part Production and Quality:
• Machine parts to required specifications and within tight tolerances.
• Monitor the machine during operation, adjusting feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut as needed.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or quality issues that arise during the machining process.
• Maintenance and Safety:
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on CNC lathes to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety regulations and procedures.
• Replace worn tools and inserts as necessary.
• Program and Documentation:
• Make adjustments to existing CNC programs (e.g., offsets, minor edits) at the machine control.
• Accurately complete all necessary production documentation, logs, and reports.

Required Qualifications

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and tooling geometry .
• Expertise in using precision measurement tools.
• Familiarity with various CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

• Experience with G-Code and M-Code programming or Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
• Experience with multi-axis or l ive tooling lathe machines.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move objects up to [Insert Weight, e.g., 50 lbs] .
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
