Job Title: Construction Coordinator – Broadband Projects

Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)

Pay Rate: $28-35/hr. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Position Summary:

Akkodis is seeking a highly organized and proactive Construction Coordinator for a contract to hire role in Dallas, TX. This is a REMOTE role, but you must be based in Dallas, TX. The desired candidate will have previous construction coordination experience in broadband infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in the planning, permitting, and coordination of construction activities related to fiber optic and broadband deployment. This position ensures that all field work is executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations and permitting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee broadband construction projects, including underground and aerial installations.
  • Work closely with permitting authorities to secure and manage necessary permits (municipal, state, utility, and DOT).
  • Act as the primary liaison between construction crews, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Research, document, communicate, and submit all permit requirements related to engineering and installing broadband infrastructure.
  • Working closely with permitting jurisdictions and engineers to ensure that engineering deliverables are documented up front.
  • Provide support with all aspects of preparing and obtaining approvals needed to install broadband infrastructure within public rights-of-way and utility easements.
  • Ensure all construction activities are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including as-builts, redlines, permits, and reports.
  • Update tracking systems to ensure status updates are capture and maintained with completeness and accuracy.
  • Distribute correspondence to the project/program team – both internal and external.
  • Develop and maintain pertinent files for the project/program.
  • Manage check requests as they relate to municipal permits/approvals.
  • Perform various administrative tasks necessary for the overall health of the PMO team.
  • Identify and resolve field-level conflicts or delays to maintain progress and minimize downtime.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in construction coordination, preferably within broadband or telecom projects.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic installation methods (aerial, underground, trenching, boring).
  • Proven experience with municipal permitting processes and utility coordination.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or project management tools
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and permits.
