Job Description

About Awe Inspired

Awe Inspired is a purpose-driven fine jewelry brand that creates meaningful, spiritually powerful pieces designed to empower. Our Goddess Collection celebrates iconic women from mythology and history, and we collaborate with change-makers to tell bold, beautiful stories through wearable art. Our team is a passionate group of creatives, visionaries, and makers who believe in magic, mission, and meticulous craftsmanship.

About the Role

We’re seeking a local, detail-oriented, and highly organized Freelance Design & Product Development Assistant who can also support on technical jewelry design tasks . This entry to junior-level hybrid role is ideal for someone passionate about jewelry, eager to learn, and excited to work hands-on across design, product development, and sample management. The role is part-time, freelance, paid hourly, and requires on-site presence in our Hollywood studio 2–3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).

You’ll assist our design and PD teams in managing samples, maintaining databases like Airtable and Figma, and ensuring every detail of our creative output is tracked, accurate, and optimized for flawless execution. You’ll also be involved in technical tasks like checking CADs against tech packs, assisting in quality control, and potentially building or editing technical jewelry specs if experienced.

Key Responsibilities

Sample Management + QC

  • Check in jewelry samples upon arrival and compare against tech packs for accuracy
  • Conduct quality control checks and track issues across development rounds
  • Photograph samples and upload images to our Figma boards for internal review
  • Organize and maintain the physical sample cabinet in partnership with our Designer
  • Ensure samples are routed efficiently to Creative, Content, and external stakeholders (e.g., WBI and photoshoots)

Tech Pack & Database Organization

  • Upload sketch images, comment sheets, and tech packs to Airtable
  • Maintain Airtable to ensure each product record is fully accurate and up to date
  • Input sample specs and data into Figma to reflect current dimensions and design decisions
  • Cross-check tech packs from internal and freelance designers before passing to the PD Manager

Meeting Support + Communication

  • Take thorough notes during product and design meetings
  • Review and synthesize comment sheets to ensure no detail is missed before final review
  • Act as a second set of eyes and ears to help our team catch missed details and ensure quality

Merchandising Support

  • Update and manage product boards in Airtable: remove sold-out or discontinued products, organize new launches, and keep everything neat and current
  • Pull and input NGF lists from merchandising to inform assortment changes

Production Support

  • Assist PD Manager with BOM (Bill of Materials) creation and other data entry tasks as needed
  • Support research or documentation work related to sourcing and factory communication

Ideal Candidate

  • Entry-level to junior experience in design or product development, preferably in jewelry, fashion, or accessories
  • Extremely organized, detail-obsessed, and self-motivated
  • Familiarity with Figma, Airtable, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Comfortable taking initiative and following through with tasks autonomously
  • Passionate about craftsmanship, storytelling, and the Awe aesthetic
  • Bonus: Technical Design experience in Jewelry or Accessories. Familiarity with jewelry tech packs, Illustrator, CADs, or BOMs
  • Bonus: Basic knowledge of jewelry construction, materials, or technical specs

Schedule & Compensation

  • Freelance, paid hourly
  • Required to work in-office in Hollywood on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
  • Estimated 10–20 hours per week depending on seasonal needs and development cycles
  • Opportunity to grow with the team and take on additional responsibilities over time
