Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR Generalist to support our dynamic manufacturing team. This hybrid role, based in Philadelphia, is responsible for day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a hands-on approach to HR support in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key point of contact for employee relations, providing guidance and support to employees and managers.
- Partner with hiring managers to manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions.
- Administer and explain HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes including orientation, I-9 verification, and exit interviews.
- Support benefit programs including enrollments, claims resolution, and annual open enrollment processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data.
- Assist with payroll processing in collaboration with the finance/payroll team.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support workplace safety, training initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and other HR-related projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or a related industrial setting.
- Prior experience and/or understanding of Union environments and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
- Proficient with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid schedule: Three days onsite at our Philadelphia facility, two days remote.
- Occasional travel to nearby facilities may be required.
- This role involves regular interaction with both plant and corporate staff.
