Senior Project Manager – Mechanical Construction (HVAC & Plumbing)

Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas | Full-time | On-site

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee HVAC and plumbing construction projects from concept to completion. This individual will manage multiple large-scale mechanical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and financial management skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple mechanical construction projects simultaneously
  • Supervise and mentor Project Engineers and General Superintendents
  • Review and maintain contracts, subcontracts, and project documentation
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling efforts with field operations
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost codes
  • Prepare progress billings and review subcontractor payment applications
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracts
  • Collaborate with design teams on design-build projects
  • Lead project closeout processes and ensure timely completion

Financial Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial aspects of assigned contracts
  • Review estimates and ensure accurate project cost tracking
  • Prepare and submit billings to maintain proper cash flow
  • Perform ongoing cost and budget analysis
  • Maintain overbilling targets ahead of cost
  • Complete closeout and lien processes to secure retainage

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of project management experience in mechanical contracting or related construction fields
  • Experience in both new construction and renovation projects
  • Proficiency with Timberline Accounting Software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), CAD, and related tools
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems
  • Experience in design-build and design-assist delivery methods
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing Project Managers and Project Engineers
