Network Administrator (NASA) Location Sanford, FL :

Description

Professional, analytical and technical work in planning, maintaining, and implementing Active Directory, data center, storage, and server infrastructure. Responsible for daily repairs and service requests related to organizational needs. Responsible for repair or coordinating repair with vendors to ensure a high level of equipment availability. Works with customers to define needs and recommend existing or new technology solutions.

Essential Functions

Performs system installation, administration, maintenance, and repair for Active Directory, data center equipment, storage, and server infrastructure.

Ensure systems are maintained appropriately to ensure a high level of availability and can be returned to service in the event of an outage.

Implement and monitor systems and procedures to maintain compliance with the County's Information Security Guidelines.

Ensure the storage, backup, and protection of County data and systems.

Act as a project lead for special projects for the County or in coordination with other agencies.

Research and recommend new technologies that may improve efficiency, enhance capabilities, or deliver value to the business.

Maintain a proactive role understanding and evaluating new technology solutions to help fill County needs.

Train end-users on technology features, function, and use.

Document procedures for installations, repairs, or other functions performed.

Document status, steps taken, and final results for work orders through the work orders system.

Perform and respond to after hours on call duties on a rotating basis

Ability to meet and deal effectively with the public, County staff, Constitutional Officers, and Elected Officials.

Additional Duties :

Performs other related work as required.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience plus five (4) years progressively responsible experience in network administration required. A comparable amount of education, training, or other experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Requirements

Work requires a high degree of teamwork, coordination with customer departments, independent judgment, and initiative. Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol, network concepts, desktop support, and Microsoft environments. Knowledge of standard practices associated with system administration, modifications, maintenance and repairs. Ability to perform proper functional and performance tests, analyze test results, detect programming errors and perform proper corrective action.

May be required to maintain a valid Florida Drivers License.

All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.

Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
