Job Description

The Real Estate Account Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of real estate transaction records, financial reconciliations, and data processing in the JDE Property Management system. This position is responsible for managing landlord accounts, interpreting legal contracts, identifying billing discrepancies, and making necessary financial adjustments. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Essential Job Functions

  • Account Reconciliation:
  • Manage the landlord account reconciliation process by reviewing general ledger and sub-ledger activity against legal contracts. Identify discrepancies, recommend adjustments, and collaborate with internal teams to negotiate settlements. Implement necessary corrections in JDE.
  • Landlord Communication:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for landlords. Clearly explain contract terms, financial outcomes, and reconciliation results. Address billing concerns, overpayment collection efforts, and contractual obligations.
  • Contract Interpretation & Research:
  • Interpret complex legal real estate agreements. Work closely with internal stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Property Management) to validate terms and ensure compliance with billing and payment processes.
  • JDE Data Management:
  • Update JDE Property Management system to reflect accurate contract terms, escalation clauses, and billing/payment data. Ensure data accuracy impacts downstream processes such as billing, FAS13 accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Recurring Financial Processes:
  • Administer monthly processes including revenue/expense escalations, terminations, and contract-based updates that affect financial outcomes. Review output and ensure contractual accuracy before making system updates.
  • Project and Special Account Handling:
  • Take ownership of special projects and account reviews that fall outside of standard processes. Perform deep-dive analysis and generate recommendations to improve data integrity.
  • System & Data Flow Knowledge:
  • Understand JDE table structures, data flow between Property Management and the General Ledger, and how system updates affect financial outputs.
  • Deadline-Driven Execution:
  • Ensure all updates and reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule to meet month-end close deadlines and reporting requirements.

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferred

Experience & Requirements

  • 1–2 years of accounting experience required
  • Experience reviewing legal real estate contracts strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in a fast-paced, detail-oriented professional environment
  • Prior experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is highly desirable
