Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Corrections (Contract)

Location: 2800 W Pinnacle Peak Rd Phoenix, AZ 85027

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (10-hour shifts) – 30 hours per week

Job Type: Long-Term Contract (No overtime offered)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a long-term contract position in a corrections facility, providing medical care to youth. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, experience in fast-paced environments, and the ability to ensure patient health and safety. Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, emergency response, and collaboration with healthcare and corrections staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and respond to youth health concerns, providing treatment and guidance.
• Obtain and process lab specimens (blood, urine, etc.) as required.
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patients’ conditions, including vital signs.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Conduct intake health screenings for newly admitted youth.
• Provide emergency medical care to youth and staff when necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation.
• Manage and restock medical supplies and equipment.
• Administer vaccinations and assist with tuberculosis (TB) testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Arizona.
• Minimum 1+ years of RN experience (corrections experience preferred).
• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, emergency care, and medication administration.
• Ability to make independent decisions in a corrections setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must follow nursing regulations and ethical guidelines.
• Ability to work effectively with medical and non-medical staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous corrections or detention nursing experience (strongly preferred).

Schedule & Contract Details:

• 30 hours per week – Thursday, Friday, Saturday (10-hour shifts).
• Every weekend required (except Sundays).
• Long-term contract (no overtime offered).
