Position: Safety Professional
Location: Texas City, TX
Work schedule: Monday – Saturday, Occasional Sundays – 12-hour days
Duration: 6-month contract, possible extension, possible full-time hire
Must have - Qualifications:
- Experience managing hazardous and non‑hazardous waste streams, including segregation, labeling, and proper storage.
- Knowledge of waste documentation requirements, including manifests, transport records, sampling records, and compliance audits.
- Strong coordination and logistics skills, particularly with roll‑off boxes, contractors, landfills, and transportation partners.
- Ability to communicate effectively and frequently with drivers, contractors, supervisors, and construction/safety personnel, especially when routing plans change.
- Problem‑solving skills to address issues such as overweight waste boxes, documentation errors, landfill discrepancies, and operational roadblocks.
- Experience with safety practices, incident reporting, hazard identification, and promoting a safe work environment.
- Knowledge of stormwater controls, including monitoring, maintenance, and sampling oversight.
Day-to-Day Functions:
We are seeking a highly organized and self motivated Waste & Water Management Professional is responsible for overseeing all hazardous and non‑hazardous waste activities on a large construction site, ensuring full regulatory compliance, safe handling practices, and efficient logistical operations. This role requires strong communication, problem‑solving, and coordination skills to support multiple contractors, landfill partners, drivers, and site leadership. The Coordinator will also support environmental protection efforts through stormwater monitoring, leak response, and maintaining accurate documentation across all waste and water programs.
