Senior Database Developer

As a member of Gramercy’s IT Team, you will provide internal support for the technology used by the organization to enhance technology services for our internal users. You will contribute to ensuring that application business needs and performance requirements are met adequately. This role requires technical skills across a breadth of technologies and interaction with both user communities and the technical community. We are looking to fill this role on a hybrid basis (3 days in office, 2 days WFH) in our headquarters in Uniondale. We are also open to remote candidates.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal and external development teams and business managers to identify software solutions.
• Develop, troubleshoot, debug, monitor, and maintain SQL code and SQL-based reports.
• Utilize ETL frameworks and development (SSIS experience is a plus).
• Apply knowledge of data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining.
• Understand and develop reports using MS SSRS and Power BI.
• Develop and manage databases.
• Build and manage APIs.
• Develop software testing to ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and efficiency.
• Write technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters, project managers, business analysts, and database administrators.
• Work within a DevSecOps environment.
• Ensure best practices development documentation and security practices are adhered to throughout the SDLC.
• Ensure all solutions are security scanned as part of the release process.
• Build automated deployment CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 15 years of experience as a Full-Stack and/or Database Developer ( SQL Server in an Azure environment experience highly preferred .)
• 5-10 years of experience in developing commercial P&C insurance applications.
• Experience with APIs and shell scripting.
• Ability to participate in daily meetings and work remotely.
• Ability to perform daily off-hour monitoring and database maintenance functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
• Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance.
• Ability to work on a hybrid work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A related degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years of experience in designing and developing commercial P&C Policy Administration systems.
• Proficiency in DevOps, GIT, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Front-end & Back-end languages, and other development tools.
• Experience in Agile software development methodology.
• Microsoft development certifications
