This position is a senior opportunity where deep PostgreSQL engineering expertise truly shapes the direction of the platform. This VP-level role focuses on owning and optimizing multiple PostgreSQL clusters across prod, dev, and UAT environments, all running on Linux. It’s a highly hands-on position for someone who enjoys full lifecycle ownership: architecture, HA/DR design, performance tuning, indexing strategies, debugging complex query paths, and improving database health through proactive monitoring.

Responsibilities
• Managed and supported multiple PostgreSQL environments (production, development, UAT) running on Linux across physical, virtual, and containerized setups.
• Architected and deployed database solutions aligned with business needs, including performance, availability, and data-model design.
• Improved database efficiency through tuning efforts spanning system configuration, indexing strategy, and partitioning.
• Built and refined complex SQL queries to support heavy-volume workloads.
• Established and maintained backup strategies and recovery workflows.
• Implemented monitoring and alerting to ensure stability, capacity insight, and proactive issue prevention.
• Investigated and resolved database issues, including diving into OS, network, and hardware layers when needed.
• Partnered with engineering and infrastructure teams to support application and platform requirements.
Qualifications
• 5+ years dedicated to PostgreSQL administration.
• Daily, hands-on experience with Linux systems.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL operations—HA frameworks (e.g., Patroni), replication, security, maintenance routines, upgrades, migrations, CDC pipelines, configuration, and observability.
• Strong background in performance tuning and SQL optimization.
• Familiarity with best-practice usage patterns and the ability to mentor teams on effective database usage.
