Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform health care procedures and monitor individuals’ health conditions.
  • Administer and monitor medications and related data.
  • Assist individuals in obtaining emergency and routine medical services.
  • Implement physician-ordered procedures in compliance with nursing standards.
  • Immediately report significant health changes or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Delegate tasks per Board of Nursing criteria.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Nursing Assessments per Caregiver, TX BON, and HHSC standards.
  • Provide on-call and telephone triage services as assigned.
  • Document all nursing interventions in SDLs or Nurses Notes; maintain billing accuracy.
  • Ensure medical records are complete and up-to-date, including physician orders and lab results.
  • Participate in annual and interim service planning meetings.
  • Recommend health-related training objectives and assist in staff education.
  • Monitor medication storage for compliance with labeling, expiration, and disposal standards.
  • Provide in-service training on health topics to direct care staff.
  • Respond promptly to emergency health and safety calls.
  • Participate in agency-wide committees and complete special assignments as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of nursing standards and ability to apply them effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Effective communication with healthcare professionals and internal staff.
  • Skilled in health assessment and intervention planning.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain continuity of care.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid RN license from the Georgia Board of Nurse Examiners or via Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Minimum of one year of recent RN experience prior to employment with Caregiver.
