Job Description
BGSF has partnered with a fast-growing company in downtown Houston and is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team. This position is responsible for managing, overseeing, and supporting the Company’s state and local tax filings. (SALT) Additional duties will consist of the following:
Facilitates and manages the preparation and review of the Company’s federal, state and local taxes, sales taxes, excise taxes and property taxes.
Assists in gathering information requested by external firm to prepare corporate federal, state and local income tax returns.
Assists with deferred revenue tax adjustment calculations for US tax reporting purposes.
Facilitates and assist with preparation and filing of US personal property tax renditions.
Facilitates review of annual property tax assessments and coordinate with outside consultant to challenge assessments as appropriate.
Requests and tracks estimated tax deposit balance.
Facilitates and manages preparation of T1134 forms.
Provides support with various audits and special tax projects.
Manages and mentor staff.
Maintains and reconciles federal and state depreciation schedules.
Assists with stock-based compensation adjustments for IFRS purposes and US income tax reporting
Creates ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
Performs projects and other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Accounting along with 5-7 years of experience in a public/private industry along with a CPA. If you are interested in learning more, please send a resume to eramos@bgsf.com.
