Job Title: Concrete Superintendent

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Compensation: $110,000 to $150,000 annually (DOE)

Industry: Heavy Civil / Site Development / Concrete Construction

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to oversee field operations for structural and flatwork concrete scopes across commercial and public works projects in the Thousand Oaks area. This role is critical in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, extensive hands-on concrete experience (including forming, pouring, and finishing), and a proven ability to manage crews, subcontractors, schedules, and materials on active job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations for concrete projects, including layout, forming, pouring, curing, and finishing.
  • Supervise field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and laborers with a focus on safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Coordinate project schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials to meet deadlines.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to ensure alignment on scope and progress.
  • Maintain compliance with plans, specifications, and local codes.
  • Perform daily quality control checks and enforce safety protocols according to OSHA standards.
  • Solve field issues quickly and effectively to keep projects moving forward.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, crew hours, and site conditions.
  • Attend and lead project meetings as needed.
  • Mentor and train junior field staff and laborers to maintain a strong, capable team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of concrete field experience, including at least 2 years in a superintendent or lead foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of rebar, formwork systems, flatwork, structural concrete, ADA ramps, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven leadership, time management, and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Thousand Oaks region.
