Job Description
The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the Dietary Department by performing essential work and cleaning routines. This position is available for both full-time and part-time schedules. Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out defined work routines with various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment.
- Assisting the cook in meal preparation and service.
- Ensuring timely meal and snack service.
- Executing cleaning schedules and performing assigned cleaning duties diligently.
- Helping with the preparation and serving of snacks, salads, and desserts.
- Setting up the dining area and serving patients during meal times.
- Conducting basic cleaning tasks in the kitchen.
- Assisting in receiving and storing food supplies safely.
- Completing side work and other opening/closing responsibilities.
- Participating in departmental and in-service educational programs.
- Adhering to safety codes while performing all duties.
- Following sanitation and safety guidelines at all times.
- Schedule is Friday, Sunday and Monday from 9:00a - 7:30p
Requirements
- Entry level position - training will be provided.
- Preferred: experience in food service within a healthcare setting.
- Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid Nevada Food Handler Certification.
- Basic understanding of food service practices and nutrition.
- Ability to create appealing food combinations that enhance menu variety.
- Knowledge of safe food handling techniques is preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Capable of working in varying environmental temperatures and settings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and co-workers.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Note: Pre-employment drug screening is required upon job offer.
