POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will direct and manage staff and operations of the Supreme Court of Arizona’s Center for Forensic Science and Artificial Intelligence and develop related programs, projects and policies which enhance the quality of justice in Arizona’s courts.
This position will develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions, justice agencies, the courts and the state bar, pursue and administers program grants and funds; designs and implements fund program initiatives; performs budget planning and administration. Direct, develop, implement and evaluate forensic science, forensic psychology, mental health, and artificial intelligence-related Supreme Court projects and system improvement efforts. Additionally, this position will create and provide provides training for staff, court personnel and members of the legal community, direct the collection, analysis and reporting of court statistical information, monitor and analyzes state and federal legislation affecting Arizona’s courts, as well as direct the development, implementation, evaluation and revisions of administrative orders, court rules, policies and procedures, guidelines and forms.
This position may also provide administrative support, event planning, and event oversight, lead staff in problem-solving, team building, research and planning, and perform personnel administration and supervision, including staff hiring, supervision, development, training, and performance evaluation.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in public administration, criminal justice, social science or a related field. Seven years of progressive management performance and skills in leading court projects, personnel, team building and customer service. Directly related experience may substitute for the degree.
This position requires demonstrated performance history in planning, directing, organizing, managing and coordinating multiple projects and personnel simultaneously with timely results, understanding and interpreting legislation, rules, administrative orders, court policies and procedures, and dealing with court administration functions and subject areas (e.g. case and records management, court accounting, family law). This position also requires skill sin clear, direct, and consistent communication.
The preferred candidate will have an advanced degree in law, forensic science, forensic psychology, or artificial intelligence.
