TITLE: Electromechanical Assembler

LOCATION: Mt Laurel, NJ

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-site

POSITION SUMMARY

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is currently seeking an Electromechanical Assembler to contribute to the assembly of electronic units and subassemblies. This role will primarily support our client's radar and threat simulator division located in Mount Laurel, NJ. As part of a collaborative team, you will be involved in the design, development, and integration of advanced threat simulators for Laboratory Hardware-in-the-Loop and Open-Air Radars for developmental test and evaluation.

The ideal candidate will work with electrical and electronic components, including modules, circuit boards, and wiring harnesses. We welcome applicants with manual dexterity and electro-mechanical aptitude, as this role requires adherence to repetitive production standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

  • Perform electrical assembly of complex units, demonstrating problem-solving skills, extreme care, skilled workmanship, and accuracy.
  • Route wires, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components in cabinets, electronics enclosures, and machined plates to ensure integrated components meet specifications.
  • Crimp terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends using hand or machine crimping devices.
  • Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harnesses, and plugs using ohmmeters, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments.
  • Tag or mark identifying information on parts.
  • Assist in resolving production failures or product issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-10 years of experience working with electrical components and/or assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, Assembly drawings, Schematics, Work Instructions, and Engineering Change Notices, including Engineering modifications and designs.
  • Proficiency with crimps, J hooks, pin terminals, eyelets and lugs.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, wire cutters, etc.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Manual dexterity to assemble electrical or mechanical parts quickly and accurately.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated quality workmanship and ability to meet production standards after training.
  • Some travel required.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with through-hole and surface mount soldering.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regular lifting of 10-50 pounds.
