Job Description
Who We Are
For nearly 50 years, Doehring & Doehring has been the family-run firm that Houstonians trust when their estates become complicated. Our boutique team handles the full spectrum of probate law—estate administration, guardianships, fiduciary representation, and, yes, the occasional knock-down courtroom fight when heirs, executors, and trustees don’t see eye-to-eye.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Litigation Attorney who can turn chaos into crisp strategy. If you can read a 200-page trust, defuse a sibling rivalry, and still make your 3 p.m. hearing downtown, you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contested probate, trust, and guardianship cases from intake through trial and appeal
- Draft pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions that make judges nod appreciatively
- Conduct depositions, mediations, and evidentiary hearings with poise and persuasion
- Collaborate with our estate-planning team to spot (and solve) issues before they ignite
- Mentor junior associates and paralegals—knowledge hoarders need not apply
What Your Bring
- 3-7 years’ civil litigation experience required. This is not an entry-level position
- Current license, good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Proven courtroom experience and stellar legal writing skills
- Emotional intelligence to navigate grieving families and high-stakes fiduciary conflicts
- A dash of humor—because probate litigation can get weird, and levity helps
Why Doehring & Doehring
- Small-firm agility, big-firm impact. Direct client contact and meaningful courtroom time from day one
- Mentorship. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with a veteran probate litigator who likes to teach
- Culture that cares. We provide concierge-level service to our clients and offer genuine support to one another. We have a 33-hour work week.
