We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Supply Planner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail supply chain operations and a proven ability to manage inventory effectively to meet customer demand and business objectives. This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process, from forecasting to factory production.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive receipt plans to ensure optimal inventory levels across multiple product categories, aligning with sales forecasts and promotional calendars.
- Generate accurate sales forecasts by analyzing historical data, market trends, promotional activities, and other relevant factors.
- Manage the full purchase order (PO) lifecycle, from creation and placement to tracking and receipt, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor and analyze sales trends, inventory turns, and weeks of supply to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate potential risks.
- Collaborate closely with vendors to manage lead times, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with factory partners, effectively communicating production requirements, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Analyze lead times and implement strategies to optimize inventory flow and reduce carrying costs.
- Proactively identify and address potential supply chain disruptions, developing contingency plans to minimize impact on sales and operations.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, sales, marketing, and logistics, to ensure alignment on inventory strategies and product availability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain department, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Supply Planner or similar role within the retail industry is required.
- Proven experience in creating and managing receipt plans.
- Strong forecasting abilities with a solid understanding of various forecasting methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience placing and managing purchase orders.
- Proficient in analyzing sales trends and inventory data.
- Solid understanding of lead time management and its impact on inventory.
- Experience working collaboratively with vendors to optimize supply chain performance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Experience working directly with factories to manage production and delivery schedules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
- Experience with supply chain planning software (e.g., ERP systems, demand planning tools) is a plus.
- Overseas sourcing experience is a significant plus.
