Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Outside Sales Representative to grow our edible oils business by identifying new opportunities and nurturing existing customer relationships within the food service, retail, and manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate has experience in the food industry, a strong understanding of culinary trends and ingredient sourcing, and a passion for helping customers find the right oil solutions for their needs.

This Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing customer relationships through face-to-face meetings, presentations, and follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline of foodservice operators, distributors, private label buyers, and food manufacturers
  • Conduct in-person visits, presentations, and product tastings to showcase our portfolio of products
  • Educate clients on product attributes, sourcing origin, health benefits, and usage applications
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs set by the sales manager
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and contracts in a timely and professional manner
  • Work closely with customer service, logistics, and production to ensure smooth order fulfillment and client satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and customer interactions using CRM software
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to grow territory presence
  • Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to management

Compensation:

This is a commission-based role with uncapped earning potential. Successful representatives in this position have earned up to $200,000 annually, depending on performance and client portfolio. If you’re highly motivated and results-driven, this role offers exceptional income opportunity.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of outside sales experience in the food or ingredient industry
  • Knowledge of edible oils, culinary trends, and/or clean-label ingredients strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a territory-based role
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, or related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout assigned region

Preferred Attributes:

  • Familiarity with the oil industry, private label packaging, and bulk ingredient distribution
  • Existing client base in the foodservice or food manufacturing sectors
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other relevant languages a plus)
