The Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) at Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center is a specialized inpatient rehab program located on the hospital’s fourth floor. It’s designed for patients recovering from serious conditions like stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, neurological disorders, amputation, or other complex illnesses.
How you’ll contribute
Evaluates and treats patients per medically prescribed physical therapy plans. Designs and implements individualized programs to restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent disability; provides patient/family education on injury prevention, ergonomics, and rehabilitation. Supervises physical therapist assistants, students, and aides in delivering care. Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and functional status.
Qualifications and requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required (Physical Therapy).
License: Current Physical Therapy license in state of practice.
Certifications: BCLS required.
