Job Description

Physician Assistant (PA) Job Description: Adolescent Mental Health

Title: Adolescent Behavioral Health PA | Collaborative Care & Clinical Leadership

Locations: Hillsborough, NC and Wake Forest, NC.

A growing behavioral health organization invites a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team focused on specialized adolescent psychiatric care (ages 12–18). This top-priority opening in Hillsborough and Wake Forest, NC , offers a structured, supportive environment where your clinical leadership is highly valued.

We are looking for a PA who is passionate about empowering teens navigating behavioral health challenges. You will work within our structured Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs, emphasizing holistic, evidence-based treatment over high-volume medication management. If you are a PA ready to make a significant, non-production-based impact, this is your next step.

Why Join This Team?

  • Purposeful Practice: Deliver primary mental health care using validated treatment modalities like CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness , focusing on resilience and strong family systems.
  • Team-Centric Support: Enjoy dedicated support from a Psychiatrist, Primary Therapist, Family Therapist, and Care Advocate . Our model ensures high-quality, patient-first care.
  • Academic Exposure: Leverage strong partnerships with Duke, UNC, and NC State to stay current on best practices and mentor future clinicians.
  • Stability & Pay: Enjoy a reliable Full-Time, 32-hour work week (M–F, on-site) with competitive pay: $72,000 – $149,000/year (or up to $90/hour ).

Your Impact:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and maintain ongoing clinical oversight for teens in PHP/IOP settings.
  • Act as a clinical anchor, collaborating seamlessly with the multidisciplinary team on individualized treatment plans.
  • Apply expertise in crisis stabilization and participate in the in-house crisis hotline rotation.

The Must-Haves (New Grads Encouraged):

You hold an active Physician Assistant license in North Carolina and are comfortable in a family-focused, team-based clinical setting. Experience working with adolescent psychiatric populations (ages 12–18) is strongly preferred.
