About the Opportunity

A growing and well-respected General Contractor in the DC–Baltimore region is seeking a Construction Assistant Project Manager to support project teams across multiple commercial projects. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow into a full Project Manager position and wanting hands-on experience with budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and project documentation.

You’ll work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to help ensure projects run smoothly from kickoff through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and project documentation
• Assist with procurement , subcontract buyout, and maintaining trade relationships
• Coordinate with field teams on schedule updates and material deliveries
• Help track budgets, invoices, change orders, and cost reporting
• Review drawings, specs, and addenda to ensure accurate scope
• Attend project meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, architects, and subcontractors
• Support punch list and closeout activities
• Troubleshoot field/administrative issues proactively

Requirements

• 2+ years of construction experience (APM, PE, office engineer, or field engineer roles welcome)
• Experience with commercial interiors, ground-up, renovation, TI, or similar project types
• Strong understanding of construction documents, submittals, and RFIs
• Organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (or similar tools)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience preferred
