The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Real Estate Site Selection Analyst . In this role, you will develop strategic plans to grow Valvoline’s Retail Services. Scope includes evaluation of proposed locations using a variety of modeling techniques and excellent judgment, preparation of site forecasting and presentation of insight and balanced property investment recommendations to Retail Services group leaders, providing guidance and insight on modeled performance, use of advanced analytical skills driving store performance insight, and leading site and territory reviews with internal stakeholders ensuring optimal store growth plans are identified and met.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Site Selection and Forecasting - Retail Services
  • Serves as regional lead for Retail Services in forecasting and analyzing all potential store locations
  • Utilize proprietary modeling software, data, and exceptional analytic skills to produce robust sales forecasts
  • Prepares site assessment reports, transfer estimates, and commentary on site quality and demographic analyses
  • Presents balanced, data-based property investment recommendations to Retail Services group leaders
  • Strategy
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the Retail Services' new build and acquisition target database
  • Serves in a key role in supporting the quarterly strategic planning process
  • Leads territory reviews with internal stakeholders and franchisees and bi-weekly development calls
  • Insight and Analysis
  • Drives continued insight through unrelenting appetite for learning and improvement
  • Implements process changes based on superior analysis of store performance
  • Special Projects on an ad hoc basis
  • Travel
  • Travels to the region of responsibility on a regular basis to support internal stakeholders, validate desktop analysis, maintain/improve market trends/development knowledge, and become the regional subject matter expert

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Minimum of two years of experience in Retail, Real Estate market analysis, finance, consulting business analytics or statistics, and familiarity with US geography, market characteristics, and retail trends, including:
  • Minimum of two years of experience required applying predictive modeling solutions in the retail industry and working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Minimum of two years of visiting target markets and interacting with internal and external real estate professionals
  • Direct experience in data and analytics organization with a demonstrated ability to develop reporting and business insights
  • Advanced Excel and GIS experience; working knowledge of relational databases is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience recommending property investment recommendations to management is preferred
  • Must be able to prioritize and communicate business needs effectively
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
